💯Your hog is fully customizable
When you reserve a hog share, you are purchasing a portion of a live animal before processing.
After harvest, the hog is processed at an inspected facility and custom cut to your specifications.
You’ll receive a full range of cuts—from everyday staples like bacon and pork chops to roasts, sausage, and more.
With Both Half and Whole Hog Shares, You receive:
This is not a pre-packed bundle. It is your share of an entire animal.
Buying a whole or half hog is one of the most practical ways to stock your freezer with high-quality pork for the year.
For families in North Texas looking for pasture-raised pork raised outdoors — not confinement pork from industrial barns — reserving a hog share offers transparency, savings, and full control over your cuts.
Most of our customers try our pork by ordering a sample of their choice online, trying it at a farmers' market, or dropping by and picking up something to try -- then they reserve a hog once they taste the difference!
Our farm raises Kunekune hogs, which are a smaller, heritage breed, so a whole or half Kunekune hog takes up less space in your freezer. Perfect for small families or someone just wanting to try Kunekune for the first time.
Half Hog
• 30-45 lbs. of packaged pork
• 10-15 lbs. of bones, organs, and fat (should you choose to keep it)
• Ideal for small families

Whole Hog
• 75-90 lbs. of packaged pork
• 20-30 lbs. of bones, organs, and fat (should you choose to keep it)
• Ideal for larger families or shared purchase
• Requires 7 cubic ft. freezer
Secure your spot with a deposit or first payment. Depending upon availability, we may have older hogs ready with a 50% deposit due up front and 50% due at pick up. We also have a pay-as-it-grows program to sponsor your hog with monthly payments for 10 months as it grows.
Limited number available per season.
Your pig is raised on pasture using regenerative practices. Slow-grown Kunekune genetics for exceptional flavor and fat quality and supplemented with corn & soy-free, non-GMO feed.
We coordinate with a local USDA-inspected butcher. You’ll receive a cut sheet to customize your order. Pick up at the farm or select local delivery. Your pork comes vacuum-sealed and freezer-ready. All butcher costs are covered.
Not all pork is created equal.
At Dos Lobos Ranch, our pigs live outdoors on pasture and are rotated to fresh ground:
🐖 Kunekune pigs are slow-grown for superior tenderness & flavor
🌱 Raised on pasture using regenerative practices
🧬 Naturally higher in beneficial fats like CLA
🚫 No confinement, no shortcuts
👉 The result: pork that tastes like what pork is supposed to taste like.
This means:
• No confinement barns
• Natural rooting behavior
• Access to fresh air and sunlight
• Movement that supports soil health
Diet, low-stress, and a healthy environment influence fat quality and flavor.
Customers often notice:
• Richer, more flavorful pork
• Firmer fat texture
• Balanced marbling
• Less water released during cooking
The difference is not additives — it’s how the animal was raised.
We only raise a limited number of hogs each year.
How long does it take?
Our heritage hogs take 12 full months to reach butcher weight. Payments are split over 10 months as the hoglet grows unless older hogs become available, in which case they may be within 6 months of their butcher date and the reservation will be switched to a 50/50 deposit item in the store.
Can I choose my cuts?
Yes! Your half or whole hog is fully customizable to your specifications. The only restrictions on cuts are specialty sausages and brats on half hogs, which require a minimum order of 10 lbs. of each flavor, and a half hog just doesn't have enough on it to reach that minimum order at the butcher.
Is the pork inspected?
Yes. All hogs are processed at USDA inspected facilities and returned frozen, vacuum sealed, and labeled. We exclusively use American Butchery in Santo, Texas.
How long will it last in the freezer?
Properly stored vacuum-sealed pork typically maintains quality for 12 months or longer. We usually see it last 2 years so long as packaging stays in good shape.
Do I pay all at once?
Yes, unless you select the pay-as-it-grows option for a weaned piglet which is a monthly fee. Deposits to reserve an older animal (6 months old and up) are applied toward your final total with 50% due up front and 50% due at pickup.
Is delivery available?
Yes, for an additional charge of $1 per mile up to 60 miles from the farm. If you're more than 60 miles from the farm, you can opt to meet us at a point 60 miles from the farm.
What if I've never bought in bulk before?
Buying in bulk can seem overwhelming, but once you add up the amount of money and time you're saving in weekly trips to the grocery store, everything at that point comes down to meal planning and learn how to cook all the different cuts. Once you have that portion figured out, you'll be ready to order again and again for years to come!
Can I split a hog with another family?
Yes. Many customers split a whole hog to maximize value.
Bulk pork is typically priced using:
At Dos Lobos Ranch, ours works like this:
Option 1 - Butcher Ready Hogs
Same as above, except we include butcher costs in the deposit and final payment due to Dos Lobos Ranch at pick up. You custom pick your cuts and you pick up your processed hog at our farm after we pick it up from the butcher or you can opt to have it delivered to you for an additional charge (up to 60 miles).
*Note* We only offer finish-ready hogs when they come available, usually we're sold out for the year. Therefore, we offer option 2...
Option 2 - Pay-as-it-grows
A monthly subscription of $136 for 10 months is set up through our Grazecart store to pay for your hoglet as it grows. Shares get released as piglets make it to weaning age and will be listed in small batches when available. It includes the same as above, all butcher costs covered, your choice of cuts, pick up at the farm, or delivery for additional charge (up to 60 miles). Plus, you get monthly pictures including your pig as it grows.
A half-hog option is available using the subscription model for $68 per month for 10 months.
Since we raise a limited number of hogs and they get sold quickly around here, we highly recommend getting in on the subscription model and reserve your hoglet months in advance.
The Value of Hog Shares vs. Our Retail Price
While per-pound pricing for pasture-raised pork can appear higher than grocery store sales, bulk purchasing often lowers the cost compared to buying individual pasture-raised cuts separately.
Many families find that buying in bulk reduces overall grocery trips and meal costs throughout the year.
Bonus: Our pork is always fed a diet that is corn-free, soy-free, and non-GMO.
Raw, uncooked bratwurst sausage links, original flavor. 1-1.3 lbs. on average per package. USDA inspected.
We understand life happens. Let's walk-through what a cancellation looks like.
While we don't anticipate anyone will decide to cancel their whole or half hog reservation, in case you do decide you need to cancel for any reason (for example, you move out of state and we cannot deliver to you), we will refund to your credit card 50% of what you paid-in and the remaining 50% will be paid to you in any of our products that we currently have on-hand at full retail price (which could be pork, beef, or turkey).
You will be allowed to select your products, but be aware we may not have a full inventory on hand, in which case you can opt to wait for our next restock. Just keep in mind that we are an extremely small farm, and the wait may be months.
If we are unable to reach you for your final cut sheet selection before your final payment:
Your cuts will be selected for you based on what is popular in our online sales. We will continue to make every effort to reach you.
If the butcher calls for us to pick up your hog and we still haven't heard from you, you will have 1 week to respond to one last attempt to reach you by phone, email, and text. After that week has expired, your pork will be moved into either our retail freezer for sale or it will be offered to someone on the waitlist. No refunds will be given to you if this happens and will be considered abandonment of your order.
The placement of your order acknowledges that you have read and agree to these terms.
Because pasture-raised pork takes time, availability is limited and scheduled throughout the year as piglets are weaned.
We open reservations in advance and process in small batches to maintain quality and consistency.
Joining the email waitlist ensures notification before the shares are announced to the public.
A whole or half hog is ideal if:
• You cook regularly at home

• You value knowing exactly how your pork was raised
• You want better control over ingredient quality
• You prefer planning meals around your freezer
